For external genital warts:

• Apply a thin layer of cream to the affected area; preferably only on warts, but a small amount on surrounding skin is okay.
• Repeat treatment 3 days a week for up to 16 weeks regardless of strength (2.5% to 5% cream); it may be stopped sooner if warts disappear.
• Treatment may be repeated as-needed if warts reappear in the future.

Regular doctor checkups are highly advisable during treatment for all conditions.

Adverse Effects

Serious reactions are rare if used properly, but there are some potentially harmful effects to be aware of before you buy imiquimod:
